When looking for girls bedroom furniture, it’s best to just follow your own parental judgment and a little bit of common sense and you can’t go wrong. Obviously, you know your girl more than any expert who might claim otherwise. So stick with your guts feeling and take your daughter along to let her have a say in what her room will look like. However, if you must follow a general guideline to help you find that perfect girls bedroom furniture set then this article will lead you in the right path.
First and foremost, you will want to decide on how long you want your girls bedroom furniture to last. For example, if you were to pick furniture set that covered in pink and has picture of Barbie all over. This would not get past her 12 birthday. If you’re on a budget, try to pick something more general that would fit a wider age range so that you won’t have to go replace your furniture every time your daughter decides to take on a new hobbies/likes/dislikes/movie/book. You should also pick different type of furniture to encourage good natured hobbies.
With this in mind, you need to take into account the girl’s age, hobbies, personality, likes and dislikes, and obviously favorite color. During her elementary years, she would probably like to play with dolls, stuffed animals and probably approve of bright colors such as pink or baby blue. At this age, a twin size bed is sufficient. She would also need a dresser with drawers for her clothes, a table, chair and a bookcase to encourage reading and a lamb for her to read at night. This room will be complete with a nice colorful rug to brighten the room. Also allow her to choose the color of her furniture, bright colors are recommended. You also might want to have your girls bedroom furniture to have pictures of her favorite cartoon characters. This can be easily done with a comfortable, sheets and pillows.
While she’s in her middle school years, you would do well to encourage a social behavior in your girls bedroom furniture. She would probably like to have friends over for slumber party. It’s probably best to have a bunk bed for her so her friends can stay over. Along with the table and bookcase, you should probably need to get her a desk so she could do her school work. At this age, she probably still has dolls and Barbie lying around in her closet but they will not be her main interest, so her room should also reflect this minor change in the room color.
When she gets to her teenage years, her girls bedroom furniture is a little easier to maintain unlike her personality. She’s probably more mature now and the furniture in her room can be less fancy, she’s probably more interested in movies and music now. So allow her to put up a few posters for her movies and books.
